Terms and Conditions
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all orders for products from the online shop www.sonnenberg.berlin in their current version, which can be accessed under the heading Home/AGB.
Conditions that conflict with or deviate from these General Terms and Conditions do not form part of agreements concluded via the online shop, unless these conditions are expressly confirmed in writing by SONNENBERG.BERLIN.
2. Conclusion of the contract in the online shop
The presentation of the goods in the online shop does not yet represent a binding offer to conclude a purchase contract. Only by ordering the desired goods do you make a binding offer to conclude a contract.
Orders can be placed with SONNENBERG.BERLIN via the website www.sonnenberg.berlin, by e-mail or by telephone. In the case of written orders without specifying the method of payment, SONNENBERG.BERLIN reserves the right to send the goods cash on delivery.
After receipt of your offer, a confirmation of receipt of the offer will be sent to the customer immediately, which does not yet represent acceptance of the same. In the confirmation e-mail, you will see the data you provided when ordering before the order process was completed. If you have created a customer account, you can still make changes to the delivery address, billing address and your personal data. The order itself can no longer be changed.
Your offer to conclude a contract is accepted by a separate e-mail (order confirmation) or by sending the goods. If you have not received an order confirmation or notification of delivery or any goods within 14 days, you are no longer bound by your contract offer. Any services already provided will be reimbursed immediately in this case. Your statutory right of withdrawal according to Section 3 remains unaffected.
All information (product descriptions, illustrations, dimensions, weights, specifications and other information) in our online shop are information from the respective manufacturer, are subject to error and do not represent any guarantee of properties. The representations on the SONNENBERG website are also .BERLIN non-binding. Depending on the screen setting, the illustrations may differ slightly from the actual shapes and colors of the goods.
There is no entitlement to the conclusion of a contract and/or registration as a user of this website. Any offer to conclude a contract can be rejected without giving reasons.
3. Cancellation Policy
Right of cancellation
You have the right to cancel this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period is fourteen days from the day on which you or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier, took possession of the last item.
To exercise your right of cancellation, you must inform us at:
SONNENBERG.BERLIN – Das Kaufhaus für Hund & Katz
Lietzenburger Straße 62
10719 Berlin
Germany
Telephone: +49 30 8870 9640
Email: service@sonnenberg.berlin
by means of a clear statement, for example a letter sent by post or an email, informing us of your decision to cancel this contract.
You may use the statutory model cancellation form for this purpose, although its use is not mandatory. The form is available at https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/bgbeg/art_253anlage_2.html.
You may also exercise your right of cancellation using our electronic cancellation function, which can be accessed via the “Revoke a contract” button on our website. If you use this function, we will immediately confirm receipt of your cancellation by email. The confirmation will contain the content of your cancellation statement as well as the date and time of its receipt.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your statement exercising the right of cancellation before the cancellation period has expired.
Returning the goods
After declaring your cancellation, you must return or hand over the goods to us without undue delay and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which you inform us of the cancellation of this contract.
The return must be sent to:
SONNENBERG.BERLIN – Das Kaufhaus für Hund & Katz
Lietzenburger Straße 62
10719 Berlin
Germany
The return deadline is met if you send the goods before the fourteen-day period has expired. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
Refund following cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs – except for any additional costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us – without undue delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive your cancellation statement.
However, we may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence that you have returned the goods, whichever occurs first.
Once the returned goods have been received, we will inspect them for completeness and condition. The refund will then be initiated without undue delay. Inspection of the goods does not affect the statutory refund period or our right to withhold the refund as described above.
We will make the refund using the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you. In no event will you incur any fees as a result of the refund.
You will only be liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exclusion or premature expiry of the right of cancellation
Under Section 312g(2) of the German Civil Code (BGB), the right of cancellation does not apply, among other things, to contracts for the supply of goods that are not prefabricated and for the production of which an individual choice or decision by the consumer is decisive, or which are clearly tailored to the consumer’s personal requirements, for example individually made dog beds, dog leads, dog collars or dog harnesses.
The right of cancellation also does not apply, among other things, to contracts for the supply of goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
4. Prices / Validity
The prices quoted in the online shop www.sonnenberg.berlin are in euros and include statutory VAT (plus shipping).
5. Shipping costs
The customer is obliged to check the delivery address given when ordering and to change it if necessary. If the shipment is sent to an address that does not exist or is incorrectly described, for example because the customer did not correctly note a change of residence when ordering, the valid shipping costs (see above) + fees for the return shipment + EUR 2.00 processing fee will be charged for a new delivery . A repeated delivery is not a reason for cancellation.
The shipping costs for packages with a total weight are:
- up to 5 kg = EUR 6.90
- up to 10 kg = EUR 9.90
- up to 31.5 kg = EUR 14.90
- more than 31.5 kg = EUR 18.90
per order for shipping within Germany.
The following applies to shipping within the EU:
- up to 5 kg = EUR 14.90
- from 5 kg = EUR 14.90 + EUR 1.30 / kg
The following applies to European countries such as United Kingdom, Liechtenstein and Switzerland:
- up to 5 kg = EUR 22.90
- from 5 kg = EUR 22.90 + EUR 1.80 / kg
Please note: Any taxes and duties incurred upon importation are the responsibility of the customer.
6. Pick up in store
If you order goods for collection, they will be made available for you to collect from our shop:
SONNENBERG.BERLIN
The department store for dogs & Katz
Lietzenburger Str. 62
10719 Berlin
Pickup is only possible at this location. Your order will usually be ready for you one working day after ordering, subject to the availability of the items ordered and that it is not a made-to-measure or special order. We cannot promise that your goods will be made available at short notice.
7. Newsletter
As long as you subscribe to the Sonnenberg Family newsletter, your orders with a shopping cart value of €50 or more are free of charge to a shipping address within Germany. In order to use this advantage, you need a customer account and must use the same email address as your customer account to register for the newsletter. If you place an order with your customer account and your shopping cart value exceeds €50, delivery of this order to a German delivery address is automatically free of charge. You can cancel the Sonnenberg Family newsletter at any time using the option provided at the end of each email. As soon as you have canceled your Sonnenberg Family benefit will also expire. For details about the data protection of our newsletter delivery, please see the data protection declaration (link to the data protection declaration).
8. Warranty
Should delivered items have obvious material or manufacturing defects, including transport damage, please report such defects immediately. However, failure to report this has no consequences for your legal claims. For all defects in the purchased item that occur during the statutory warranty period, the statutory claims for supplementary performance, for defect elimination / new delivery and - if the statutory requirements are met - the further claims for reduction or withdrawal as well as for damages, including compensation for the damage, apply at your choice the fulfillment and reimbursement of your futile expenses.
Normal wear and tear of the goods does not justify a warranty claim. Damaged dog toys are excluded from the warranty if the damage can be attributed to the customer - for example through use of the toy.
Insofar as we grant you a seller's guarantee, the details result from the guarantee conditions that are attached to the item delivered in each case. Warranty claims exist without prejudice to statutory claims / rights.
9. Retention of title / resale
The goods remain our property until full payment has been made. The commercial resale of the goods is prohibited.
10. Storage of the order text
The contract is concluded in German. The order text is not stored by us and can no longer be called up after the order process has been completed. However, you can print out your order data immediately after sending the order.
11. Payment
We generally offer the following payment methods: advance payment by bank transfer, PayPal, “Pay Later” via PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit card, as well as – in conjunction with collection from our store – payment in store.
The payment methods available in each individual case will be displayed during the ordering process. SONNENBERG.BERLIN reserves the right not to offer certain payment methods for individual orders and to refer customers to other available payment methods. There is no entitlement to use a particular payment method.
Advance payment by bank transfer
If you select advance payment by bank transfer, you will receive a separate email containing the invoice and our bank details after completing your order. The invoice amount must be transferred to the account specified therein, stating the invoice number as the payment reference.
As a general rule, the goods will be dispatched once the full payment has been received and recorded by our accounting department. Recording the payment may take up to three working days after receipt. If you provide us with suitable proof of payment by email, we may release the order for dispatch after reviewing the proof of payment. There is no entitlement to dispatch before the payment has actually been received.
PayPal
When paying via PayPal, you will be redirected to PayPal during the ordering process. To complete the payment, you must log in to PayPal or open a PayPal account and confirm the payment. Payment is processed by PayPal in accordance with PayPal’s applicable terms of use.
“Pay Later” via PayPal
Where this payment method is offered to you during the ordering process, you may use deferred payment or instalment payment options provided by PayPal. PayPal alone decides whether such a payment option is offered and under which conditions, particularly on the basis of the checks carried out by PayPal. The PayPal terms and conditions displayed to you during the ordering or payment process apply.
SONNENBERG.BERLIN is not the provider or lender of these financing or payment services. There is no entitlement to a particular payment term, instalment payment arrangement or financing option.
Apple Pay
When paying with Apple Pay, the payment is processed via the PayPal payment service. Use of this payment method requires, in particular, a compatible device and a payment method stored in Apple Pay and authorised for the payment. The payment is confirmed during the ordering process in accordance with the PayPal terms applicable to Apple Pay.
Google Pay
When paying with Google Pay, the payment is processed via the PayPal payment service. Use of this payment method requires, in particular, a compatible device and a payment method stored in Google Pay and authorised for the payment. The payment is confirmed during the ordering process in accordance with the PayPal terms applicable to Google Pay.
Debit and credit card
When paying by debit or credit card, you enter the required card details during the ordering process. The payment is processed and authorised by our payment service provider Stripe. The invoice amount will be charged in accordance with the terms of the relevant card issuer or payment service provider. If the payment is not authorised or is subsequently declined, we are not obliged to dispatch the goods before successful payment has been made.
Payment in store
This payment method is available exclusively in conjunction with collection from our store. Subject to availability, the ordered goods will be prepared for collection and held until the collection date communicated by us. Payment is made upon collection from the store using one of the payment methods available there.
12. Image and copyrights
All image and copyrights are owned by us or our partners. Use without express written consent is not permitted.
13. Contract language / choice of law

14. Online Dispute Resolution
The European Commission has set up an internet platform for online dispute resolution. The platform serves as a contact point for the out-of-court settlement of disputes about contractual obligations from purchase contracts that were concluded online.
